Slumdog Millionaire :(

Finally, got to watch slumdog millionaire last week , and to be frank i didnt like it.. guess its just all the hype that makes you expect more out of it.
The movie revolves around a mediocre story that has nothing great to offer, dialogues that suck and a diction that's pretty irritating . I have no idea what with the Anil Kapoor character that's missing -- something hollow.
Acting also, was below par, except for the junior artists ( the kids) -- who is should say did an excellent work -- :) however, the rest was pretty sad -- even the lead roles.. And -- rahman ... well, he probably deserved oscars for his musical scores in earlier movies ( roja), but not for this one .. there wasnt anything special about it and the only song that was enjoyable was 'jai ho' that came in the end..
Overall, i wonder how it won the globes.. and don't really see why it should win the oscars....

I totally hated the movie because it shows modern India in such a bad light, when the whole world is watching. About the acting, no comments.

i am not sour because they showed india in a bad light, only that it is waaay overrated!! seriously.. had it been an indian director forget bafta, it wouldn't even have been nominated for golden globes!!
and cmooon, a r rahman is a genious !! he has done much better songs that gives us goosebumps in the last 2 decades. of all the songs, jai ho?? i don't think so!!
Also, i don't understand y v (indians) are making a big deal out of it.. it's after all a british movie shot in india nothing else.. even though ndtv called it an 'indian movie' bbc and cnn reported it as 'british movie'.
jai ho sucked.. but the soundtrack was awesome and the kids did the major part of the movie and in a way that deserves much appreciation and praise.
And there again, dev patel, with a blank look throughout the movie. and am sorry.. but did he get nominated for something???

i don't totally agree to whatever comments're posted...The whole movie is enjoyable...The missing link is the way he wins the crorepathi contests...where many events coincides at a point....Bit unbelievable...
